Children’s Checkup

How often should a child have a checkup?

Just like your regular visit to the dentist, your child is also required to visit a doctor for checkups. This is needed to assess their growth and development, and spot any medical condition before it becomes too severe. Checkups are required for infants, toddlers, older children and adolescents. Parents, keep in mind that your child’s health should not be taken for granted.

What checkups include:

  • Vision screening

  • Measuring blood pressure
  • Physical examination (head to toe)
  • Urine analysis
  • Questions about sleep and eating routine

Visits should be scheduled at the following ages;

There are several benefits of regular visits, such as;

  • Prevention is better than cure. With regular checkups a parent and child would be informed of any abnormalities and there tackle the issue at an early stage before it gets severe.
  • Keeping up with your child’s development and growth. You would be able track your child’s growth and address any concerns with your pediatrician.
